Day 82

Inspired by the crappy weather and the fact that we had to use up a lot of ingredients from our fridge (we're going to Philly tomorrow!), I wanted to make good use of some left over Wolf Creek Farm ground beef. Behold, lettuce burgers with bacon, egg, goat cheese, and cherry tomatoes. And yes, they […]

Day 54

Having dinner with friends is always a good time. Having dinner with friends at a fantastic restaurant is an even better time. Tonight we had dinner with two friends at what's quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in town: Brookville. Chris and I each got their 1/2lb burger (with bacon and egg on top) and one […]

Day 47

Today Chris and I went to a local BBQ joint's Porkapalooza. $10 for all you can eat pork, sauces, and desserts! The meat was definitely the main attraction, perfectly cooked and oh-so-tasty.  It could have been pretty paleo if I had played my cards right, but I simply couldn't turn down their bacon donuts. Hats […]

Day 46

The perfect post-fasted workout, middle of a beautiful day meal: the B.E.A.T salad. Bacon, egg, avocado, tomato. Add some salt and pepper, a splash of lemon juice (or in my case, an entire lemon) and voilà! Seriously, this is gooood.

Day 36

This morning we woke up early to get breakfast before Chris had to leave to teach all weekend. We went to a local restaurant called Bluegrass Grill & Bakery. They have delicious southern home-cooked meals. One little gem we found today was something called Pig Candy - bacon with lots brown sugar, cayenne, and cinnamon. […]

Day 26

It's Restaurant Week in Charlottesville! It's been delicious and (not too) bad for my health. Last night we ventured to Horse and Hound and had a delightful time. Tonight was Brookville. We've eaten there before as we were attracted to their use of local and fresh ingredients. That's where we were first exposed to beef […]
